A three-hundred-millisecond stutter is the most recognisable thing on this site. It is also four lines of CSS.
Hover any link and the underline flickers twice before settling. It reads like a neon tube warming up, and it comes from a single keyframe that steps a custom property between 100 and 50.
We tried easing it. It looked like every other site. Steps it is.
